Located in the Sumadija wine region, near the village of Orasac, Matijasevic Vinogradi is considered one of the most prestigious wineries in Serbia. This small company owns about 15 hectares of vineyards where they grow indigenous and international grape varieties, for the production of top quality wines that have already received wide recognition at the international level. Čukundeda is a dry red wine made from 100% indigenous Prokupac grapes (also known locally as Kameničarka) grown organically on clay-limestone soils in the vineyards of the Matijašević estate. After fermentation, the wine rests in barrels for 12 months. The name is a tribute to a famous local winemaker and grower who was very fond of this traditional grape variety. In the glass, the wine reveals a dark and dense color with ruby ​​tones. Its aromatic profile is intensely fruity with notes of plum and ripe raspberry, blackberry, and cherry and some light hints of spice and tobacco. On the palate, it is rich and round, juicy and fruity with a well-balanced acidity. The finish is long and gently spicy. It is very versatile when it comes to food pairings: it pairs well with duck or turkey served with cranberry sauce, grilled lamb chops, and mushroom risotto.
