Le Guaite di Noemi Tano Rosso Veronese 2018

Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Located in Mezzane di Sotto, in the province of Verona, north-east of Italy, Le Guaite di Noemi was founded in 2002 by Stefano and Giulietta Pizzinghella and is now led by their daughter Noemi. The company's name refers to the most representative vineyard that was purchased in 1990. Tano Rosso Veronese is a classic blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Corvinone from vineyards located at about 450/500 m above sea level on mixed soil of white limestone, pink limestone, iron and basaltic. After fermentation, which takes place at a controlled temperature, the finished wine ages for 2-3 years in steel and another 2-3 years in the bottle, before being released onto the market. The wine reveals an intense and brilliant color with dark rubytones. On the nose it is expressive with a broad aromatic profile and notes of cherry and cassis, currant and rhubarb, violet and hints of undergrowth. On the palate it is fresh and juicy with a lively acidity and a pleasant savory vein. The finish is long and recalls spicy notes. Try it with spaghetti with meatballs, pasta amatriciana, spicy legume-based soups or cacciatore chicken.
