Le Guaite di Noemi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2013

Drink it now or cellar for up to 25 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Le Guaite di Noemi is a small family-run winery located in Mezzane di Sotto, a short distance from Verona, and in the heart of the historic area of Valpolicella. Here the vines can enjoy excellent exposure and soils of different origins, white limestone, pink ferrous limestone, and basaltic. The climate is ventilated and the temperature changes between day and night guarantee perfect maturation and a balanced acid vein. This wine is a classic blend of local Corvina, Rondinella, and Corvinone grapes, with possible small additions of Oseleta and Croatina. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and with selected yeasts. The finished wine is aged for approximately 36 months in new barriques. The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico by Le Guaite di Noemi has an intense and broad aromatic profile with notes of cherry, plum, berries, pepper, tobacco, and balsamic hints. On the palate, it is soft, full, and velvety. It has a well-balanced acid streak and a long, warm finish with some spicy hints. With food, it is extremely versatile. It pairs well with red meat and game. It is perfect with braised meats and mature cheeses. For an unusual pairing, try it with chocolate.
