Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in Località Bussia in Monforte d'Alba, the Parusso winery was founded in 1971 and is now managed by the second generation of the family. The estate extends over approximately 23 hectares of vineyards within the Barolo denomination, characterized by highly valuable soils of mixed composition. The Nebbiolo grapes are selected and hand-picked from the various Bussia, Mosconi, and Mariondino vineyards located in the municipalities of Monforte d’Alba and Castiglione Falletto. After a period of maceration, fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts. The finished wine then rests in small oak barrels for a year and a half before further refining in the bottle. Perarmando Barolo is a tribute to Armando Parusso, who began producing Barolo in 1971. In the glass, the wine reveals a bright ruby color and an elegant and broad aromatic profile with notes of blackcurrant and cherry, floral scents of rose petals, and nuances of sage and tobacco. On the palate, it is rich and mature, harmonious and elegant. It has soft tannins and a subtle and well-integrated acidic vein. The finish is long and pleasantly persistent. Like all Barolos, this is a wine to pair ideally with truffle-based dishes, mature cheeses, game, or fillet steak.
