Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant. Founded by four friends and winemakers Laura Ramos, Alfonso Torrente, José Ángel Martínez, and Roberto Santana, Envinate produces natural wines both in Galicia and the Canary Islands, working with indigenous varieties and collaborating with local winemakers. Taganan Blanco is a blend of several indigenous grape varieties from the Canary Islands, including Gual, Malvasía, Verdello, Marmajuelo, Forastero Gomera, and Listan Blanco. The grapes are hand-picked from old vineyards that are organically grown on volcanic soils and located in the town of Taganana, on the north-eastern coast of the island of Tenerife. After manual harvesting, the grapes are vinified separately depending on the plot of origin with indigenous yeasts. The finished wine then rests on the lees in neutral oak barrels and steel tanks for 8 months. This wine, produced in limited quantities by the Envinate company with the collaboration of winemakers from Santiago del Teide, in Tenerife, is a fresh and vibrant white with an Atlantic character. On the nose, it reveals a lively aromatic profile with notes of quince, white flowers, mineral, and salty hints. On the palate, it is intense and lean with a marked mineral vein and a thirst-quenching acidity. It is the ideal wine with grilled or carpaccio white fish, seafood, and sushi.
