In that short amount of time they have garnered international attention from wine critics and the press thanks to their visionary approach and commitment to quality and originality. The pair have racked up years of winemaking experience between them and passionately pursue a winemaking philosophy which focuses on small batch artisanal methods and single vineyard wines to produce the very best wines possible. The couple’s Blank Canvas Sauvignon Blanc begins life in the Holdaway vineyard at Dillons Point which is one of Matt and Sophie’s favourite Marlborough regions for Sauvignon Blanc. This site boasts cool nights during the summer as well as well draining sandy soils and a high mineral content. To preserve the maximum freshness possible in the wine the couple harvest at night and ferment the juice in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Matt and Sophie’s minimal intervention approach helps to produce a lively Sauvignon Blanc with plenty of ripe tropical fruit and gooseberry character. On the palate the freshness and minerality harmonises perfectly with the ripe fruit flavours which linger long on the tongue. An ideal wine to serve as an aperitif or drink with fresh seafood and fish.
