Cellar for up to 20 years. Decant 1 hour before serving. This highly-rated product of the Yarra Yering vineyard has a deep, bright dark crimson tint and an opaque black dark red core giving it a bold, expressive impression. Made from the finest Shiraz, Viognier, Marsanne, and Mataro grapes, the Yarra Yering Dry Red No.2 is a rare blend that would have every wine enthusiast nodding their head in satisfaction. It received a 96 rating from the Wine Companion critics, alluding to its perfection. Strongly scented perfume, strawberries, floral undertones, violet, and black cherry graciously welcome your nasal senses as the wine dances into your glass. Notes of mild earthy cedar seamlessly blend to bring out a refreshing aromatic experience. It has an extremely fine tasty graphite structure and properly measured acidity coupled with long finishes of delicate tannins, mild dry cloves, and earthy spices. This red wine is irreplaceable for wine lovers who look out for depth and intensity. The hand-picked grapes, 95% Shiraz, are first destemmed before being wholly put into fermenters. Some stalks are taken back in there during fermentation to enhance the aroma. Some varieties, including Viognier and Marsanne, are stored in French Oak barrels, where they age for 15 months before blending and bottling. Exquisite when paired with beef and venison.
