Dits del Terra is Terroir al Límit’s flagship wine - the first that the winery produced back in 2001, and one of its most complex and elevated reds. It begins with fresh blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, underscored by scents of dried herbs and spice. It is crafted from 100% Carignan, harvested from the mineral-rich hills of Priorat in northeastern Spain. Terroir al Límit is the invention of two friends who met while working in the Mas Martinet winery. Vintner Dominik Huber comes from Germany and enologist Eben Sadie comes from South Africa, each bringing something special to the hills of Catalonia. Their very first edition of Dits del Terra was created from fruits they bought from the Perez family at Mas Martinet, where the duo learned a great deal about the region. Black fruits, flowers, herbs, spice and hints of balsamic vinegar mingle on the palate of this silky red. It is a pure expression of Carignan, fermented and aged in cement tanks. Without oak influence, Dits del Terra carefully treads the ground between light and serious - it oozes with power and complexity, yet has a distinctly fresh and fruity character. It is a brilliant introduction to the landscape of Priorat and a natural place to start exploring the wines of Dominik Huber and Eben Sadie. Consider pairing it with rich poultry dishes, beef stews, or aged cheeses.
