Drink it now or cellar for up to 25 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in Sarmiento at the 45th parallel south in Patagonia, Argentina, Otronia cultivates about 50 hectares of vineyards with varieties capable of adapting to the extreme climate of the area, such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Noir, and Gewürztraminer. These vineyards, among the southernmost in the world, grow in conditions of intense cold. But the sunny days of spring and summer, and the temperature range between day and night, guarantee a slow maturation and the production of wines of great elegance and aromatic complexity. The Pinot Noir grapes come from various plots in the Paico & Sierra Silva vineyard and are vinified separately and then blended to best express the elegant character of the grape and the unique terroir of Sarmiento. After manual harvest, the grapes are fermented in concrete vessels. The finished wine is aged approximately 20 months in a mix of French oak and concrete foudres. The wine has a delicate, mineral, and fresh character with fragrant aromas of red fruits (strawberry, cherry, and ripe raspberry) and spicy hints of pepper and cinnamon. On the palate, it is lively and has a medium body. The tannins are fine and velvety and the finish is long and pleasantly complex. It is the ideal wine with tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, or a charcuterie board.
