La Crema Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2022

Drink now or hold for a few years. No need to decant before serving. La Crema was founded in 1979 as “La Crema Viñera”, or “The Best of the Vine”. The winery has always focused on quality over quantity, seeking out small vineyard parcels that produce the most concentrated grapes. In 1993, La Crema was acquired by Jackson Family Wines, opening the doors to more varietals and cool-climate vineyards all across the state of California. The winery has a particular interest in the exports of Burgundy, with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay making up the majority of their stunning wine range. Their headquarters is in the fog-filled hills of the Russian River Valley, but they also have an estate at the renowned Saralee’s vineyard in the same region. The grapes for this Chardonnay were sourced from La Crema’s home turf. The Russian River Valley Chardonnay is bursting with aromas of pineapple and lemon, and notions of buttery bread, oak and wholesome spice. Flavours of sweet melon cascade on the palate, supported by orange zest and ripe pear. It has a juicy mouthfeel, with a refreshing bite of acidity. This Chardonnay will pair perfectly with creamy pasta or rice dishes and any seafood with a tangy citrus element.
