Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Made up of around 400 local families of winegrowers, the Slovenian cooperative Klet Brda was founded in the late 1950s and is based in the Dobrovo Castle, in the heart of the Goriška Brda wine region. In this area, particularly prone to the cultivation of white grapes, the vineyards enjoy extremely favorable soil and climate conditions, with excellent hilly exposure, a mild climate, and soils rich in minerals. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes come from terraced vineyards, aged between 10 and 30 years, on soils composed of stratifications of sandstone and clay. The harvest is manual and the wine matures in a mixture of French barriques and large barrels for 24 months before blending. The Klet Brda Bagueri Cabernet Sauvignon has an intense and deep color with dark ruby shades and violet reflections. On the nose, the wine reveals a fruity bouquet with fragrant notes of ripe plum and forest berries, hints of cocoa and vanilla. On the palate, it is full and concentrated with velvety tannins. The finish is long and well-balanced with some vegetal hints. Try it with a juicy steak, with pasta with game ragu, or with stuffed peppers.
