Drink now or cellar for up to 8 years. Serve chilled. Originally an old milk depot, Grosset winery was founded in 1981 by Jeffrey Grosset who first fell in love aged 15 when his father brought home a bottle for his family to try. After studying Enology he went on to work for wineries in Germany and Australia before deciding to create his very own project focused on Riesling. Over the years Jeffrey has helped put the Clare Valley on the map for this variety, encouraging other winemakers to start planting it and championing the screwcap to preserve its natural aromatics. This bottling is a great introduction to the classic Grosset style which is inspired by traditional European white winemaking. Fruit is sourced from the Rockwood vineyard which is farmed both organically and biodynamically. Once in the winery it is carefully sorted and then fermented in stainless steel tanks to showcase the natural character of the Riesling. The result is a lively, vivacious wine that’s bursting with citrus, honeysuckle, and ginger notes on the expressive nose. The palate is refreshing and clean with plenty of grapefruit and lemon, culminating in a pure, clean finish. Serve as a vibrant aperitif or a partner for leafy salads, sushi, fresh seafood, and creamy cheeses.
