Cellar for up to 15 years. Decanting is optional, up to 30 minutes before serving. The Domaine Jessiaume story began almost 200 years ago in 1850 when the Jessiaume family founded a humble winery in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy. Nowadays, the winery is under the ownership of Dr Jean-François Le Bigot, whose commitment to quality and minimal intervention methods has driven the winery into the limelight. Domaine Jessiaume has access to some of the greatest vineyards in Burgundy, including the esteemed Premier Cru “Les Gravières” - of which they own 3.8 hectares. The terroir is defined by its mineral-rich soils, composed mostly of limestone and gravel, which elevate any vine that spreads its roots here. This Les Gravières wine shows a generous nose, which is full of red berries and rough around the edges, with notes of earth, cocoa and rose petals. The palate exhibits a plump character, with beautiful, crisp tannins, juicy acidity and a focused fruitiness. You can discover classic Pinot Noir notes of plum, raspberry and strawberry, with hints of truffle and leather. This is a top-quality wine, and it will no doubt benefit from some extended ageing. Consider pairing it with fine game meat, such as rabbit, or soft cheese.
