Enjoy it now, or cellar for a few more years. No need to decant before serving. Produced by Clément and Florian Berthier, this sparkling wine hails from the prestigious Marne Valley in Champagne. The region, known for its slightly warmer climate and clay-limestone soils, provides an ideal terroir for crafting memorable wines. The vineyards are nestled among rolling hills and are predominantly managed by grower-producers, who know the land like the back of their hands. This luxurious Champagne is made of a majority of Pinot Meunier grapes, with 20% Chardonnay. On the nose, it reveals enticing aromas of green apple, pear, and ripe quince, complemented by subtle hints of lemon zest, and honey. As the wine opens up and the mousse begins to disperse, delicate notes of brioche, butter, and toasted almonds emerge, adding to its complexity. In the mouth, this Champagne showcases a medium-bodied, fine perlage that offers a delightfully creamy mouthfeel. The wine spent 20 months ageing on the lees before release. Flavours of tart orchard fruits, lemon, honeysuckle, and vanilla spice are accompanied by a crisp, mineral-laden finish. The brothers’ Berthier may be from the Loire Valley, but they know how to make a stunning sparkling wine. This Champagne's precision and sapid dry character make it an excellent partner for pork, shellfish, and rich fish such as salmon or tuna.
