Cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant it. Forjas del Salnes is a Galician winery founded in 2005 by Rodrigo Mendez with the famous winemaker Raul Perez. The recovery of centuries-old vineyards of little-known varieties and the production of Albarino wines from old vines have always been their mission. But the winery also aims to enhance a terroir of great vocation where sandy and granite soils and the proximity of the sea create grapes of great expressivity. Leirana Albarino is an exceptional white wine that was qualified in 2012 as the best wine of the Rías Baixas appellation by the New York Times. It is made 100% from Albarino grapes, grown on sandy soils of granite origin from vines aged between 40 and 60 years. It is fermented in a mix of stainless steel vats and oak foudres, where it is then left to mature for six months. This mineral Albarino offers delicate notes of stone fruit, white flowers, a touch of salinity, and a hint of slightly bitter citrus. A vibrant acidity brings freshness and liveliness. It is complex and expressive, agile and elegant. It can stay in the cellar for a few years but can also be enjoyed now with seafood, cod, oysters, and appetizers in general.
