First established in Wolverhampton in 1908 the Viking brand has a history, rich in the tradition of top quality road bikes throughout the century. Quality, style and durability have always been the hallmarks of Viking cycles. Today's Vikings embody those core qualities and look to widen the range to suit the ever increasing demands of changing lifestyles. For 2015 the range includes Road, Trekking, Comfort, Tandems, Heritage, Urban Sport, E-bikes and City Folders. No longer produced in Wolverhampton, each model now utilizes the technical developments of todays manufacturing processes and lightweight tubing. The Viking Ascot tandem is the road going version of the Saratoga, instead of 26" wheels it comes with slightly larger and narrower 700c wheels, better suited for longer distances on tarmac. The Ascot also comes equipped with a rear alloy pannier rack and full chromo-plastic mudguards. It's ideal cycle for couples or friends who prefer to share the experience of a cycle ride. The frameset is Vikings bullet proof aluminium triple triangle frame with chromoly forks producing a strong but lightweight responsive tandem. The frame features an eccentric bottom bracket as standard for easy chain tension adjustment. Equipped with 21 speed Shimano indexed gears for easy shifting and powerful front and rear V type brakes it offers a great introduction to tandem riding. Model Type : Aluminium road Tandem. Triple chainset with alloy cranks and chainring chainguard, 2 x single chainsets with alloy cranks and double chainring chainguards. Wheel Specification :700c 48 spoke silver alloy double wall Viking rims with a alloy hubs. Front quick release. Shimano 7 speed freewheel. 700 X 38 puncture resistant blackwall road tyres. Brakes :Front and rear alloy V type brakes with Shimano levers. Levers have reach adjust facility. Handlebar and Stem : Alloy riser bars front and rear, with adjustable alloy rear stoker stem. Additional : Viking unisex comfort saddles with matching handlebar grips, 300mm alloy micro-adjust seat pins. Alloy platform pedals. Weight : 23.5kg (20"/18"). Frame Colour : Platinum Grey. Fork Colour : Platinum grey. Cycle Condition :Brand new sealed in box. This bike comes 90% built, fitting of pedals, stem/bars, front wheel, front brake cable & seat. Chain tension, gears and brakes will also require some adjustment.
