Drink now or cellar for up to 9 years. No need to decant before serving. This punchy Bordeaux-style blend is the product of a collaboration between one of Chile’s oldest producers, Vina San Pedro, and Chateau Dassault, a respected Grand Cru estate in Bordeaux. Vina San Pedro was founded in the Curicó Valley in 1865 by a pioneering family who were some of the first to experiment with planting Old World grape varieties in the region. This bottling is made from specially selected vineyards planted with old vines which give an incredible depth of flavour and power to the wine. Cabernet Sauvignon is the dominant component of the blend along with a smaller proportion of Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and the young wine is matured in French oak barrels for 14 months. Each of the components of the wine is vinified and matured separately and blended by the winemaker before bottling. The result is a vivacious and juicy red wine which is ideal for enjoying alongside charcuterie, cheeses and red meat dishes. On the nose there are ample notes of black cherry, cassis and crushed berries while the first sip reveals a rich full body, smooth texture and soft tannins.
