Vina Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour and half. Located in California, in the Paso Robles wine region, Vina Robles is widely known for their Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, but they also produce a wide range of approachable and expressive wines in small quantities. The company, property of two Swiss families, owns and cultivates six vineyards in five sub-districts of the region. Winemaker Kevin Willenborg carries on a philosophy of minimal intervention in the vineyard and in the cellar, applying traditional winemaking methods while using modern technologies. Vina Robles Cabernet Sauvignon is mainly produced with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, with a small addition of Petit Verdot, both grown on the estate. The finished wine is then aged for 20 months in a combination of French and American oak. It is a classy wine, rich and opulent but very balanced, reminiscent of the warmth and sun of California. In the glass, it shows a deep and dense color. The nose reveals powerful aromas of dark fruits, cocoa, violet, coffee, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is dense and consistent, deep and full-bodied with balanced and ripe tannins. It is perfect with a rich barbecue, roasted lamb and game stews.
