The Scirocco is the second bike in the 2013 Viking road range and named after the Mediterranean wind that comes from the Sahara and reaches hurricane speeds in North Africa and Southern Europe (Thankyou Wikipedia). The Scirocco is aluminium framed version of the entry level Viking Jetstream, it has the usual relaxed road race geometry with sloping top tube but comes in slightly lighter than the entry model. Shimano handlebar indexed shifters are fitted for effortless gear changing. Highlights include 36 hole Viking deep section alloy rims with quick release front hub and Shimano derailleurs. This version of the Scirocco is aimed at the budding junior racer, it's fitted with 20" wheels with narrow 28C tyres and higher gearing make it easier to achieve and maintain higher speeds than a mountain bike or hybrid. This junior Scirocco comes with the same spec gear as the adult version and is equipped with a 14 speed transmission using a 14-28 Shimano freewheel on the rear and a 38-48 double chainset.
