Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Founded in 2010 in Valtuille de Abajo, in the DO Bierzo, Veronica Ortega's winery is a small company that owns approximately 5 hectares of vineyards and produces excellent wines in an artisanal way and with full respect for nature and the terroir. Despite its small size, the winery is considered one of the most promising in the area, also thanks to the eclectic talent of its founder. The Godello grapes come from a vineyard of about 35 years, located in the village of Pieros at about 500 meters above sea level on sandy soil. The soil and climate conditions, together with the altitude are particularly favorable for this vine that manages to express itself at its best, developing an elegant mineral vein. After manual harvesting, a light maceration on the skins, and spontaneous fermentation, the finished wine ages for 9 months in a mix of French oak barrels of various sizes. La Llorona Godello is a vibrant and complex wine with a broad aromatic profile, characterized by citrus and peach notes, and hints of chamomile and fennel. On the palate, it is juicy, lively and fresh. It has a light body and a well-balanced acidity. It is crisp with a long and thirst-quenching finish. It is perfect with paella, Galician octopus, and fish fritters.
