It is one of the latest products from Te Mata Estate, with a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Franc. The estate sits on 15 hectares of land containing 5 vineyards. The Buck family have maintained the consistency for a long time since the winery's establishment with a series of monumental wines under its belt. This red wine has been rated as one of critics' top five Hawke's Bay wines This bold solid Coleraine is well structured and balanced with aromas of blackberries, currants, lavender, and oak, as well as traces of warm cinnamon, almond, pine, and fruity sweetness. On the palate, it's superbly concentrated and elegantly layered, with tremendous fruit strength paired with complexity and detail and a long and intriguing finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc grapes are hand-harvested from the wineries in Hawke's Bay. Before classical warming, fermentation and lengthy maceration, every batch of grapes undergoes destemming. Right afterwards, the wines are aged in entirely fresh Oak barrels for 17 months.
