Play starts with the tether positioned in the middle of the spiral. Each player takes it in turns to hit the ball, one hitting clockwise, the other anticlockwise. The tether will move up or down the spiral, dependent on the direction of the hit. The aim of the game is to get the tether to the top or bottom of the spiral first.
