An ultra wide angle, prime lens, the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC has been designed to work with full frame or APS-C cameras. Its optics comprise of 14 lens elements arranged in 10 groups. The model has been fitted with two ED lenses with a low dispersion factor, two aspherical lens elements, including one hybrid element and three elements with a high refraction factor. All lens elements have been covered with the highest-quality anti-reflective UMC coatings. The lens provides maximum angle of view equal to 115.7 degrees, while the minimum focusing distance is 0.28 metres.Samyang AE 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC with Nikon F mount has been additionally equipped with an electronic circuit to control exposure parameters from the camera level and take full advantage of the benefits provided by the i-TTl flash system. Constructed from metal and high quality plastic, the 14mm features a smooth dampened manual focus ring, the aperture ring features ½ EV steps.The Samyang 14mm features a wide, ribbed manual focus ring which is smooth and well-damped. This provides a positive manual focus, particularly suitable for more professional videoing / filming with DSLRâs where manual focus is preferred, enabling focussing pulling whilst video recording.The optical construction is 14 elements in 12 optical groups with 3 high refractive index elements, 2x ED element, an aspherical hybrid element plus a aspherical glass element. The latest generation of anti-reflective layers: UMC - Ultra Multi Coated are incorporated to minimise flare and ghosting. The lens is supplied with a special front snap-on lens cap, rear lens cap, and soft lens case.
