Upper Swaledale is a stunningly peaceful and beautiful undiscovered corner of the Yorkshire Dales. If you are weary of stress and hectic living, and need to breathe new energy into body and soul, then come to Rowleth End. Built in 1924 in the Art Deco style, Rowleth End has always been a place of hospitality. Now a well appointed and comfortable five-bedroomed guest house, it is also the current owner's home; guests are welcomed into both. Today, Rowleth End provides hospitality at its best. Relax in style and comfort, yet with plenty of informality. Its five guest bedrooms are individually styled with quality beds and period furniture. The evening menus feature the very best of local produce. Log fires; local real ales at the bar. Our five guest bedrooms are all on the first floor; each one is incredibly quiet and offers: - supremely comfortable bed - a stunning panoramic view - a spectacular bathroom - crisp cotton sheets - plenty of fluffy white towels Our two ''''Classic'''' rooms have their own separate private spa bathrooms, each a couple of steps outside the bedroom door. Our two Superior rooms have traditional en-suite bathrooms with high-pressure showers and either a 6ft wide superking-sized bed, or twin bedded. Our Luxury room is very, very special, with a huge en-suite spa bathroom and lots more. Perfect for special occasions. At Rowleth End, we are passionate about food. Good food is to be enjoyed, preferably together with good company. Recipes need not be complex, but quality ingredients are essential. Flavours generally develop through slow and careful cooking. Breakfast is a hot and cold buffet, with everything you would expect from a ''''full English'''', and more. Porridge or kippers on request. Most guests come down between 8.15 and 8.45; but we are very happy to accommodate earlier risers, and those looking to lie in. An evening meal is available every night of the week. On weekdays we offer a main course with dessert and local cheeses, with home-made soup as a starter. On Fridays and Saturdays, we offer a more elaborate home-cooked meal with a set menu (more like a gourmet dinner party) with starter, main course, choice of desserts, local cheeseboard and coffee. Please expect laundered white tablecloths, silver cutlery and candlelight, and maybe an open fire too. The wine list is carefully chosen to match excellence and individuality with value for money. The wines come from France, Italy, Germany, Lebanon, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Chile, Argentina, South Africa .....and Yorkshire! And every guest is offered a free glass of Yorkshire wine before their first evening meal. Business hours of reception: Every day: from 08:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 22:00 . and from : to: on weekends
