In a good location close to the river restaurants and not far from the centre of town, the Phoutthavong has a lobby that s essentially a parking garage, but otherwise has surprisingly nice rooms. All the rooms have hot-water bathrooms and TV, and the air-con rooms looked and smelled clean and fresh. They even have high ceilings and little breakfast nooks. There s a noodle joint right across the street and it s a short walk to the market by the bridge. Recommended.
