Paritua Stone Paddock Scarlet 2020

Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in the Bridge Pa Triangle district in the heart of Hawke's Bay, Paritua Estate is set on approximately 53 hectares of vineyards planted in 2003 and consisting of 70% red grape varieties. The name Paritua is a tribute to the river that flows through the vineyard and a reference to the strong connection to this beautiful land. The unique soil and climate conditions of the area ensure the production of high-quality wines that best express the potential of the Hawke's Bay terroir. Stone Paddock Scarlet is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with small additions of Cabernet Franc, sourced from the Paritua vineyard in Hawke's Bay, planted on red, gravelly metallic soils with excellent drainage. After harvest and cold maceration, fermentation takes place separately by lot and variety. The finished wines mature for 12 months in a barrel before blending and bottling. The wine reveals a dense, deep color with dark tones, and purple highlights. Its aromatic profile is intense and ripe with notes of plum and blackberry followed by sweet spices and hints of cedar. On the palate it is round and soft, concentrated and full-bodied. The tannins are firm and ripe. The finish is long and recalls woody notes. Try it with roast lamb or spicy marinated pork.
