The Lumix 14-42mm X lens is a true innovation in lens design. Its sheer portability (only 95g in weight and 26.8mm deep when closed) belies its prowess. Enhanced Power O.I.S. (optical image stabilisation) and Power Zoom are included, plus the optics themselves have Nano Surface Coating which cuts out flare and ghosting right across the visible spectrum. Four aspherical lens elements keep images razor-sharp and enable such small dimensions to be achieved, and two ED (extra low dispersion) elements are included to vastly reduce chromatic aberration (false colour fringes).Using an Inner Focus system with a stepping motor, extremely fast and quiet focusing is possible. In addition due to the reduced size and travel of the focusing lens, 0.1 second “Light Speed AF” is made possible.
