The vineyards of Mora & Memo are located in Sardinia’s south-eastern corner where the rolling hills and excellent limestone soils are ideally suited to the island’s native grape varieties. The winery was founded by Elisabetta Pala who is incredibly passionate above her island homeland and its characterful local wines. She focuses on producing inspired examples of Sardinian classics like Vermentino and Cannonau which are ideal for everyday enjoyment. This vibrant Isola Dei Nuraghi rosé is a great example of the Mora & Memo house style, with plenty of freshness and aromatics combined with intense fruit flavours. The cuvee is composed of the island’s most famous black and white grape varieties, Cannonau and Vermentino, which grow just a few kilometres from the sea. Once in the winery the fruit is fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the natural personality of the grapes. Seductive notes of cherry, raspberry and blackberry immediately burst out of the glass followed by hints of oregano, rosemary, and a salty minerality. The first sip reveals a crisp freshness, enticing red fruit flavours, and a pure and clean finish which makes this ideal to serve as an aperitif. If you’d prefer to enjoy it with food, pair with leafy salads, fresh seafood, or grilled fish.
