Enjoy it now, or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant before serving. Domaine Marc Colin et Fils has been around since the 1970s, producing a delicious range of wines in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy. It is a proud family winery, now under the guidance of Marc Colin’s two children, Caroline and Damien. The estate sources grapes from a humble 12 hectares in some of the Côte de Beaune’s finest patches of land, an eclectic collection of Premier Cru, Grand Cru, regional and communal appellations. “Le Trézin” is a vineyard that sits at the top of a slope in Puligny-Montrachet. As is typical of Domaine Marc Colin, this is a terroir-driven wine, an embodiment of everything that makes Côte de Beaune such a fantastic wine region. This wine is a perfect balance of fleshy body and wiry acidity. On the nose, you will discover hints of white peach, hazelnut and wet stone minerality, as well as classic citrus notes. It’s a pale lemon colour in the glass, which is reflected on the palate. Sharp notes of lemon zest are present, along with apple skin, orange and peach, all driven along by the marvellous acidity. This offering from Domaine Marc Colin will be an excellent partner for meaty fish, such as halibut or cod, or buttery shellfish.
