Makita's CXT range comprises of compact professional power tools which use slide on 10.8v lithium ion batteries. These are available in higher capacities than the older stick type batteries, and have multi-contact terminals to ensure a solid connection when exposed to vibration and impacts. Additionally, they have overload protection circuitry and can be used in extreme cold, down to -20°C. The JV101 is a cordless CXT jigsaw with an electric brake, integrated dust blower and a selection of 3 orbital settings with an additional straight cutting mode. It has a variable speed trigger and electric brake for optimum control, and a 0-45° bevelling aluminium sole plate.
