To generate enough power to drive the motor effectively, the machine uses two standard 18v LXT batteries, installed in series to give it a total of 36v - this enables performance comparable to the corded equivalent, while benefitting from the increased flexibility and convenience that cordless machines can provide on the jobsite. Like the SP6000, the DSP600 has an electric brake, soft start and depth stopper function for splinter-free cutting; it has also been fitted with a brushless motor to ensure maximum runtime from the batteries, and includes Makita's Automatic Torque Drive technology: a performance regulating system that automatically adjusts the cutting speed according to load condition, helping to ensure consistent results in all materials.
