Built as a villa in the 1930s, Hotel Lord Byron is set in the exclusive residential Parioli district of Rome, on the edge of the Borghese Gardens. The Spanish Steps and Via Veneto are a stroll away. A white-gloved doorman greets guests at this former Patrician villa, built in the 1930s. Glossy dark woods complement black- and-white striped carpeting and silver light fittings. This area merges into a seating area with large sofas, books, and fresh flowers. The hotel offers a restaurant and bar, both of which are Art Deco in style. Port and petits fours are offered in the evening; croissants, chocolate-filled brioche, coffee, and juice are served in the morning. Public-area walls showcase paintings from the owner's private art collection. The works are by Northern European artists such as Paul Joron Maurice and Nicholas Granger Taylor; most date from the early 20th century.
