Saó is a corner of peace to delight you with its marvellous landscapes, and also a gastronomic place to taste an amusing selection of wines ... We have put a great effort into preserving the essence of a building more than three hundred years old. After having been occupied in many different ways through those years, we have refurbished it to create a small hotel with five comfortable bedrooms and all the services required in this 21st century. The interior decoration is simple, detailed and elegant, with clear contemporary touches, achieving that fragile balance between the traditional forms of construction in the high mountain, using basically local stone and timber, and the materials and styles belonging to our own times. The hotel has its own parking, a garden with a zone for relaxing, a very sunny terrace, musical bar, restaurant with meticulous cuisine, lounge and library, two fireplaces, direct access to paths for walks, and five welcoming double rooms, one of which is adapted for the disabled and another is suite type, all with lovely views over the village and the landscape, LED TV and multimedia connections. All the bedrooms have a toilet and roomy shower, balcony or terrace, telephone, multimedia connection and Wi-Fi cover. We pay special attention to the quality and comfort of the bed and all the furniture. The decoration is sober and welcoming, combined with warm and efficient lighting. The property, on the right side of the village of Bescaran (1,350 m) covers 1.2 hectares. We use the seasonal products harvested in the district and combine them with other products from the area, such as artisanal sausages, apples from Alàs and cheeses and butter from Cadí. In season we have wild mushrooms, including truffles, which we harvest in abundance from the woods around us. The wood-fired oven gives that special flavour which you can appreciate in many of our dishes.
