A winter tyre has to maintain its flexibility, even when temperatures are at their lowest. Bridgestone’s own “Nano Pro-Tech” compound is now present in all the manufacturer’s tyres, providing the necessary flexibility to guarantee vehicle driveability in the snow and over ice. By focusing on driver expectations, Bridgestone’s teams have perfectly responded to the problems inherent in driving during the winter season. Its innovative tread combines two different kinds of sipes: 2D sipes (for “2 directions”) in the middle of the tread, and 3D sipes (for “3 directions”) on the tyre’s shoulder blocks, which improve gripping capabilities and allow for a significant reduction in stopping distances. The other important criteria for the consumer, aside from good performance over snow, is the feeling of total safety over wet roads.
