Cellar for up to 5 years. Serve well chilled. The Jermann Pinot Grigio was first produced in 1974 and proved to be such a hit that this well-respected Italian winery has continued to make it every year since then. The Pinot Grigio vines are planted on predominantly sandstone and marlstone soils which force them to struggle to find nutrients and water, producing intensely flavoured grapes. To preserve the freshness and enhance the natural beauty of these Pinot Grigio grapes, the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for a short time before bottling. The result is a classic bright and lively Italian Pinot Grigio which exudes uplifting aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, and white flowers. The first sip reveals a vibrant, mouthwatering acidity complemented by tropical fruit flavours and a feather-light body. In the mouth the entry is smooth with a clean finish which would make this an ideal partner for seafood, summery green salads, or pan-fried fish accompanied by grilled vegetables. It also makes an excellent match for classic Italian dishes like squid ink pasta, porcini mushrooms, or even a hearty margherita pizza thanks to the bright freshness which pairs well with the acidity of the tomato sauce.
