Inama I Palchi Foscarino Grande Cuvee 2021

Enjoy it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant before serving. This is an elegant white wine, crafted from old Garganega vines in the Soave Classico region. The wines here are heavily influenced by Monte Foscarino, an outcropping of volcanic rock that imparts a brilliant minerality to the surrounding soils. I Palchi Foscarino Grande CuveƩ is alive with scents of white flowers, soothing chamomile, zesty fruits and the subtle aroma of wet stone after a downpour of rain. The producer, Inama, is a family-run winery that has been making wine in the Veneto region of Italy for over 50 years. In recent times, Stefano Inama has been joined by a second generation of vintners - his three sons, Matteo, Alessio and Luca. Soave has always been their bread and butter and this patch of land on Monte Foscarino, purchased in 1965, is ground zero for their wine-making mission. Before release, this Grande CuveƩ was fermented in a combination of oak barrels and steel tanks and spent 6 months maturing in the bottle. The palate is laden with notes of rich citrus fruits, peach and melon. It is a wonderful starting point for those looking to explore the world of Northern Italian whites. It will make an excellent partner for seafood, but it can be enjoyed with anything from roast chicken to vegetable risotto.
