Hubert Meyer Cremant d'Alsace Brut

Enjoy it now, or cellar for a couple of years. Serve chilled, no need to decant. In the village of Blienschwiller in Alsace, the esteemed house of Meyer has been growing grapes for centuries. Bottling and selling wine is a relatively recent development for the family, started by Hubert Meyer in 1976. However, with such a rich history and a deep generational knowledge of the terroir, they produce an exquisite range of Alsatian sparkling wine. In recent years, Hubert has slowly transitioned to working in the vineyards more than the cellar. Most of the winery’s affairs are now in the hands of his son, Pierre, an expert oenologist who carries 10 generations of wine-making on his capable shoulders. This Crémant is made from 100% Pinot Blanc, aged for 18 months on the lees before bottling. It offers a nose with clarity - refined notes of pear and peach waft from the glass, with an undercurrent of minerality and honeysuckle. The ageing process adds a certain richness to the palate, where you will find flavours of sweet stone fruit, apple and citrus. With just 6g of added sugar per litre, this Brut creates a lasting impression of crispness and bright fruit. It will be perfect as an aperitif or paired with Alsatian cold cuts, pretzels, or delicate seafood dishes.
