History with a side of Tapas: A local's Madrid

If you like food and history, join me and I’ll show you some of my favorite Madrid Tapas Bars where I will recommend what Tapas to order and how, alongside a fun dynamic history of Madrid. If you would like to learn about the history of Madrid and fill your tummy up with tapas and drinks along the way, you’ve come to the right place. We walk around the historical district of Madrid, starting in the 1700’s and working our way to the oldest 1500’s quarter of Madrid with plenty of fun historical and personal anecdotes along the way. En route, I will point out three traditional tapas restaurants that my Spanish family has been frequenting forever, for some great food, such as croquettes, Spanish ham, chorizo, Mancehgo cheese, Spanish omelet, gazpacho, paella, accompanied by wine, beer, traditional Sangria and Castilian after dinner shots. Highlights include •The second oldest nightclub in Madrid, once frequented by Julio Iglesias. •The origins of the Spanish Tooth Fairy mouse •The Madrid new years eve custom •The oldest standing restaurant in the world •A walk through Da Vinci Code territory •The best paella in Madrid I grew up here in Madrid, my father is from Wisconsin and my mother a Madrid native, and have lived in both countries where I moved back 15 years ago, and decided to set up Native Spanish Tapas, because I truly love sharing my Spanish culture and food. You will feel like a real native at the tapas bars that I recommend, that are away from the touristic hustle and bustle.
