Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Founded in the 1920s by Charles Bocard in the heart of the prestigious wine region of Meursault, Domaine Guy Bocard is a historic family business, passed down from father to son until 2018, when the Derichebourg family took over. Today, the winery, which has converted to organic farming, is led by renowned winemaker Philippe Pacalet. The Chardonnay grapes are selected and harvested manually from the Les Durots, Les Basses Gouttes, and Les Grandes Coutures plots located in the commune of Meursault. Here the vines enjoy south-eastern exposure and clay-limestone soils. After fermentation with indigenous yeasts in barrels, the finished wine rests for 12 months in barrels (10% new). Bourgogne Cote d'Or by Guy Bocard is a crystalline wine with pale golden tones. Its aromatic profile is rich and intense, with aromas of white fruit and citrus, white flowers, and honeyed accents. On the palate, it is rounded and concentrated with a good structure and medium body. It has a well-integrated acidity and a long and slightly savory finish. It is perfect with fish and seafood. Try it also with a medium-aged Comté.
