The rubber protection pads protect mounted equipment from the solid metal weighing 93g, making it a very solid piece of kit for both hobbyists and professionals. Switch between vertical (portrait) and horizontal (landscape) orientations without flipping the tripod head on its side (thereby adding stress to the head) or upsetting your shooting position. Excellent for panoramic/vertical photography and when using a tripod when speed is needed. This plate has a standard 1/4" screw which can be completely removed if required - allowing you to install your own, positionable along the length of the bracket .
