Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant. Created as a sort of second label of the famous Californian Duckhorn winery, Decoy produces excellent quality everyday wines at competitive prices. Production is relatively large, compared to Duckhorn, but over the years, the Decoy wines have enjoyed great success and today the winery has gained good notoriety and expanded its portfolio. The grapes are sourced mainly in Sonoma County. The Pinot Noir grapes are selected from vineyards in the Green Valley, Russian River Valley, and Petaluma Gap. After gentle pressing and fermentation at a controlled temperature, the finished wine is left to mature for 10 months in French oak. Duckhorn Decoy Limited Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir has a bright and clear color, with cherry tones. On the nose, it is lively with fresh aromas of red fruits such as currant, raspberry, pomegranate, and strawberry followed by delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is juicy and intensely fruity. The tannins are soft and well-integrated. The finish is fresh and recalls notes of red fruits and cedar. It is ready to drink but can stay in the cellar for a few more years. Try it with game birds, pasta with meat sauce, and mixed boards of charcuterie and cheese.
