Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Located in Saint Aubin, Domaine Larue is a family-run winery founded in 1945. Today, the estate, which extends over 15 hectares of vineyards, is led by the founder's sons Denis and Didier. This complex and elegant wine is made with Chardonnay grapes sourced from the 1er Cru Sous le Puits parcel of less than 2 hectares, located at about 300 meters above sea level near the hamlet of Blagny, in the upper part of the denomination. Here the vines, planted between the 50s and 82, sink their roots into clay-limestone soil and enjoy an eastern exposure. Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Sous le Puits is a refined wine characterized by a broad and floral bouquet. On the nose, it reveals hints of white flowers and flint, aromatic herbs and fresh fruit, lemon peel, and sweet spices. On the palate, it is characterful and tense, vigorous and generous, round and mature. It has good minerality and a refreshing acidic streak that balances the taste. The finish is long and complex with buttery and sweetish notes. It is excellent with foie gras escalope and poultry with creamy sauces.
