Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Founded in 1926, Domaine Fournier is one of the historic estates of the Loire Valley and the Sancerre wine region. The estate today extends over approximately 39 hectares of vineyards located in the communes of Menetou Salon, Sancerre, and Pouilly Fumé, from which the winemaker Frédéric Jacquet produces a rich range of wines of exceptional quality. Sauvignon Blanc grapes come from vineyards located in the communes in eastern Touraine and Anjou. Here, the vines are rooted in sandy clay soils that favor the pure aromatic expression and fruity character that are typical of Loire Sauvignons. The grapes are harvested at night and in the morning to preserve freshness. Fermentation takes place in vats and the finished wine then rests in steel tanks. In the glass, Sauvignon Blanc F de Fournier reveals a brilliant straw yellow color with greenish reflections. Its aromatic profile is intense and lively with fresh citrus notes of grapefruit and mineral hints. On the palate it is vibrant and juicy, fruity and thirst-quenching. Serve it chilled as an aperitif on a hot summer afternoon, or pair it with vegetarian finger foods, asparagus quiche, seafood and sushi, and with fresh goat cheese.
