Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in Beblenheim, in the Alsace wine region, Domaine Bott-Geyl is a family-run winery with a very long tradition dating back to the 18th century. The estate covers approximately 14 hectares of vineyards, including 6 Grands Crus, cultivated according to organic and biodynamic farming practices. Riesling Les Éléments is made with grapes selected and harvested by hand from plots located in Riquewihr, Zellenberg, and Ribeauvillé, planted on limestone and clay-schist soils. After fermentation in steel tanks, the wine rests on its lees, also in the tank, for 4 to 5 months. The result is a brilliant and refined wine, which fully expresses the richness of the Alsatian terroir without losing the fresh and pure character of Riesling. In the glass, the wine reveals a clear and luminous color with straw yellow tones and greenish reflections. Its aromatic profile is broad and fragrant with citrus and stone fruit notes, followed by hints of white flowers and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is round, lively and taut. It has a medium-light body and an invigorating acidity. The finish is long and recalls pleasant mineral notes. It is exceptional with oysters, raw seafood, grilled shrimp, or smoked salmon.
