Industry-standard digital interface for connecting a flat panel display to a computer system and designed to replace VGA, DVI and LVDS. DisplayPort delivers higher performance than its predicesors and allows new monitor designs, improves display connectivity, and provides a capability for new technology to be used. A DisplayPort signal is not compatible with DVI or HDMI, but can pass these signals through the cable using a wiring adaptor.
