The 5 storey Derby Hotel was originally built in 1968 and subsequently re-launched in the mid-90's. Situated in a surprisingly quiet street, away from the bustle and energy of the city, the hotel is located in the heart of the commercial center. Lying close to some of Barcelona's main ''Avenidas'', the relaunched Derby Hotel was conceived by a team of English-inspired designers, drawing on a combination of oiled hardwood panels, soft lighting and comfortably upholstered armchairs. A combination of modern and classic design greets guests in the serene marbled lobby, scented with incense and decorated with contemporary art and classical Greek sculptures.
