A Tuscan project of the Piedmontese winery La Bollina, Corte Medicea produces excellent-quality wines under the expert guidance of consulting oenologist Andrea Bernardini. The estate's vineyards are located on the rolling green hills of southern Tuscany, at an altitude of around 380/400 meters. Here the vines enjoy excellent exposure that guarantees perfect ripening of the grapes and clay and silty soils that favor great concentration in the grapes. Aristeo is a Super Tuscan produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, and Canaiolo in almost equal parts. The perfect balance of these grape varieties and the maturation in French oak for a year create an elegant, fine, and rich wine capable of aging for several decades, continually evolving. In the glass, the wine reveals a strong character and an intense and complex aromatic profile with notes of currants, cherries, and berries followed by spices, chocolate, licorice, and some earthy hints. On the palate, it is concentrated, full-bodied, and soft with smooth tannins and a well-integrated acidity vein. It is powerful but not opulent, with a long and persistent finish that recalls notes of chocolate. It is the ideal wine for Florentine steak, Korean beef BBQ, or pulled pork.
