Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Located in the Rhone Valley, in Chateauneuf du Pape, Chateau de Nalys has a very long tradition dating back to the 17th century when it was founded by the Nalys family. Today, this prestigious estate, considered one of the most emblematic in the region, extends over 50 hectares of vineyards, and is owned by Maison Guigal, who acquired it in 2017. The wine is a blend of mostly Grenache with additions of Syrah, Muscardin, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Vaccarèse, and Terret Noir from vineyards with an average age of around 45 years located in 3 exceptional sites (Le Crau, Bois Sénéchal and Nalys). After manual harvesting and vinification in temperature-controlled tanks, the finished wine rests for 18 months in vats and a further 6 months in concrete tanks. In the glass, the wine reveals a deep ruby color and an elegant and broad aromatic profile with notes of fresh red fruit and baking spices. On the palate, it is soft, round, and full-bodied with velvety tannins and a fresh acidic vein. The finish is long and rich and recalls spicy notes. It is excellent with grilled meat and lamb chops.
