Cellar for up to 4 years. Serve well chilled. Moldova is home to one of Eastern Europe’s most exciting up-and-coming wineries, Chateau Purcari, whose long and noble history dates back to the 19th century when French settlers began experimenting with planting Bordeaux varietals here. Conditions in this south-eastern corner of Moldova are ideal for premium winemaking thanks to the proximity to the Black Sea and superb soils very similar to those found in Bordeaux. In recent years the winery has gained international attention thanks to outstanding wines like their Viorica de Purcari which was named Best in Show and scored 97 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2020. This light and delicate white is crafted from the local Viorica grape variety which is harvested by hand to ensure quality and vinified according to traditional winemaking techniques. Reminiscent of a floral and aromatic muscatel, this charming white is bursting with honeysuckle, acacia, and zingy citrus notes on the nose. The first sip reveals a bright and mouthwatering freshness, a light body and well-rounded stone fruit flavours which linger on the tongue. Enjoy this crisp white with fresh seafood, sushi and leafy salads or simply as an aperitif on a hot summer’s day in the garden or by the pool.
