Its popularity actually bursted with the arrival of Bernard de Nonancourt in the late 1940s, thanks to the changes he brought to the Maison and the choice to favor Chardonnay in its cuvées. The Cuvée de Laurent-Perrier is a blend of mostly Chardonnay with the addition of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. There is also a variable quantity between 15 and 30% of reserve wines. The wine rests on its lees for at least four years. This results in a Champagne that is very representative of the house style with an elegant, lively, and complex character. This splendid Champagne has a crystalline color with golden yellow tones embellished with a persistent perlage. On the nose, it reveals a fragrant and fresh aromatic profile with a broad bouquet made of citrus and peach notes, white flowers, and bread crust. On the palate, it is lively and balanced, fresh and well-structured. The finish is long and fruity. It is perfect with a shrimp cocktail or seafood crudités and makes for a classy aperitif on its own or with fried finger foods.
